Trideum Corporation is pleased to announce that Tammie F. Smiley was selected to serve a two-year term (2021-2023) as a member of Luke’s Wings’ Board of Advisors. In this role Ms. Smiley will provide guidance and expertise, and serve as a member of the host committee, which will entail speaking at various Luke’s Wings’ events.
Luke’s Wings was founded in 2008 after learning that the government does not always provide flights to immediate family members to enable them to be at the bedside of their wounded warrior. In order to fill this void, Luke’s Wings stepped in and began providing complimentary airfare not only to the family, but to the wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans as well. Ten years later, these flights continue to bring much-needed mental, physical, emotional, and financial support to these wounded American heroes and their families.
Understanding that her purpose is to serve all mankind, Ms. Smiley has been an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., for the past twenty-seven years. In addition, she currently serves as Vice President of the Trideum Foundation Board of Directors; Vice President of the Alexandria-Mount Vernon Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.; Assistant Treasurer of the Ivy Foundation of Northern Virginia, Inc. Board of Directors; and on the scholarship committee of the Alfred Street Baptist Church Foundation. Ms. Smiley also actively supports the Military Officers Association of America’s (MOAA) legislative advocacy for service members and their families. “Tammie truly exhibits the characteristics of our mission to take care of our customers, employee family, and communities where we live, work, and play. We are very proud of Tammie for this appointment,” said Favio Lopez, President and COO of Trideum Corporation.
Ms. Smiley has been in the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) field for over twenty-five years and is currently a Senior M&S Solutions Architect at Trideum Corporation supporting the Army Modeling Simulation Office (AMSO). Throughout her career, Tammie has worked for the Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD); the National Simulation Center (NSC); the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA); the Joint and Army Modeling and Simulation Division (JAMSD); the Mission Training Complex in Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Fort Stewart, Georgia; and the Joint Multinational Simulation Center (JMSC) in Grafenwoehr, Germany.
