During the 91st Military Operations Research Society (MORS) Symposium at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY on June 13, 2023, MORS inducted Dr. Simon R. Goerger as a 2023 MORS Fellow.
He was selected during the December MORS Board of Directors Meeting along with Dr. Jerry Diaz, Director for Analysis, Chief Technology & Innovation Office (USSF CTIO/S9) at U.S. Space Force, and Dr. Fred Bowden, Research Leader Land Capability Analysis, Defence Science and Technology (DST), Australia.
Since 1989, MORS has annually recognized outstanding members for significant, long-term contributions to the Society and inducted these individuals into the ranks of the MORS Fellows. Dr. Goerger joins 93 members of national security analytical community previously recognized with this honor.
Dr. Goerger is also on the team receiving the MORS 2023 Richard H. Barchi Prize for their 2022 presentation “Impact of Reliability in Conceptual Design—An Illustrative Trade-Off Analysis”,

Dr. Goerger is a Senior Solutions Architect for Trideum Corporation. He has been a member of MORS since 2000 and has served on the MORS Board of Directors as a voting member or an Advisory Director since 2008. He has held five committee chair positions, four VP positions and was the 2019-2020 54th President of the Society. Simon also served as chair or co-chair on Working Group 28: Computing Advances in Military Operations Research (Advances in Modeling and Simulation Techniques), Co-Chair of the 2007 Equipping the Analysis Toolkit, Co-Chair of the 2011 MORS Education Colloquium, and Co-Chair of the 2018 MORS Resilience Workshop. He has presented at over 20 MORS symposiums and special meetings. During Dr. Goerger’s presidency, MORS successfully executed its first 100% virtual workshop, Modeling Complex Warfare Workshop, and the June 2020 Virtual 88th MORS Symposium.
